It was a spectacular day for the OTHTC High Desert Ultra! Temperatures ranged from the high 30s to mid 60s with blue skies and calm winds. The deserts were green with blooming flowers.
Before the start, Darrell Price and John Radich paid tribute to our late friend, Bill Dickey- a long time High Desert Ultra participant.
We had 74 50k runners and 49 30k runners. This year we introduced a brand new 10k route that traversed through the Goldbug mining area. We had 29 finishers in the inaugural 10k. There were zero DNFs this year for all three races! Runners came from California, Nevada, and Colorado.
The overall 50k champion was Madeline Ogle (4:08:55). The first male was Adam Stanford-Moore (4:15:20). The 30k male champion was James Apple (2:27:22). The female champion was Kinga Escarcida (3:11:48). The 10k male champion was Imric Koca (50:16) and female winner was Cara Lamoreux (1:01:15).
